The Eiffel Tower is probably one of the most iconic of all monuments in the world. Built-in 1887-1889 by Alexandre Gustav Eiffel, the Eiffel tower is composed of three-levels reaching 1063 feet tall. It is the tallest structure in all of Paris. Seeing it in person is absolutely amazing.
On our first visit to Paris, the girls (Lisa, Lynn, and Megan) and I made a visit from the Champs de Mars. We didn’t climb the tower, because of our limited time in Paris, but we definitely had to make a stop.
The hubs and I took a little more time when we were visiting Paris at the end of our trip and signed up for a tour of the iconic tower. We booked this tour and it was great.
The tour started a few blocks away (about a 5-minute walk) in the 7th arrondissement, close to lots of cafés (we might have had a few glasses of champagne before the tour). We met our host and he gave us a brief overview of the Eiffel Tower and a little history of Paris. He had a great sense of humor and was very knowledgeable- a great tour guide, in my opinion. The tour included our entrance and skip the line access to the second level. Our tour was approximately one hour and concluded on the second level.
The sites were definitely magnificent and you are able to see all of Paris from the top. I was actually a little nervous about the tour because I’m not about heights at all. But no worries, because you would have to try like crazy to get over the fences, no falling off definitely. I felt completely safe–not scared at all.
