HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I don’t know if I’ve ever been as excited to start a new year. 2020 has been a rough one for all of us and I thought that a delicious New Year’s Wish would be a great way to ring in a new start, a new vision, and some new inspiration. Believe it or not, but I am feeling really optimistic about the new year. I usually don’t make resolutions, but I always try to be mindful of ways that I can do or be better. By doing or being better I mean doing things in my life for improved positivity, self-care (and not just skincare), and in my relationships with my family and friends.
Now, on to the cocktail–The New Year’s Wish is a simple and delicious Cognac Red Wine Cocktail. I call this cocktail a “sipper”. It’s perfect for those evenings when you just want to sip on a simple cocktail while making dinner, reading a book, or just relaxing in front of the tv. There’s nothing fancy or hard to prepare with this one, but the combination is so, so good. I love simple cocktails like this one. Perfect for when I’m just trying to get it all together in January.

So around these parts, we don’t really participate much in the whole “Dry January” thing. We are usually really into all of the Mardi Gras celebrations, that it’s just not going to happen. This year might be a little different, with Mardi Gras basically being canceled, but I know that most of us Louisianans will still be enjoying our King Cake and Mardi Gras inspired cocktails.
