Hi! and Welcome to our Spring Garden. I am officially back from a little vacation and hiatus and am so excited to show you our backyard and favorite entertaining area. I always love this time of year and spending time on our patio and in the garden. I hope you will enjoy this little tour.

We kept most of the outdoor furniture in the same place as last year but found a few new places for some of our favorite potted plants and fountains. We also added a few new plants. Our goal is for most of the plantings to be perennial versus annuals other than our herbs and an occasional spot of color.

I’m a huge fan of irises and daylilies. Not only do they provide height and greenery to the garden, but they also provide gorgeous color throughout the spring and summer.

I also did a little refresher on all of my succulent pots adding a few new gorgeous succulents. A few that I added are Blue Chalk Sticks, Ruffles Echeveria, Hens & Chicks, Climbing Aloe, Escheveria Pollux, Crassula Money Maker, Echeveria Graptopetalum

One of my favorite things to do to add texture and interest to a garden is to place pots and stones randomly. Adding the stones allows you to walk directly into the flower beds for gathering cuttings and weeding the beds.

I wanted to share a close-up picture of this fun pillow that I made for our couch. I was generously gifted a fun Louisiana stencil from Stencil Revolution and decided to make a fun “my heart is in Shreveport” pillow. I used a pre-made pillow form from Hobby Lobby and some fabric paint in royal blue and gold for the heart.

Due to all of the rain that we have been getting our garden has literally exploded. It’s crazy how much plants can grow in a little over a week. I’ll definitely be enjoying this space this weekend with a nice glass of wine in hand. So how is your garden growing?
