Since we are all stuck at home without being able to visit our favorite local bars, a home bar is pretty darn important at this time. (At least to me, it is.) I’ve been building my home bar for years now. I’ve been teaching a few cocktail classes recently and I’ve realized that many people don’t really make a lot of cocktails at home. (No judgment here, but right now if you want a good craft cocktail, guess what?? You’re it!)
Several of my girlfriends and I have been participating in virtual happy hours and they’ve been asking me what they need to make certain drinks. I thought it would be a great idea to share what are the best items you need to start building your own home bar. Next week I’ll be giving you lots of ideas about the liquors, liqueurs, syrups, and flavorings. This week, I wanted to share with you some of my favorites right now to give your home bar some function and style.
Three Essentials For Every Home Bar
A Citrus Juicer…
This fantastic citrus juicer is a must for every home bar. It’s handheld and super affordable. If you plan on juicing a lot, though, you probably want to take the easier route and use some type of electric citrus juicer.
I love this gorgeous rose gold cocktail shaker that would be a great addition to any home bar as well as this entire bar toolset. Just remember that for sure you need a strainer and jigger. (You don’t have to have all of the other tools if you are building your bar on a budget, but those are definitely a must.)
When you are building a home bar, I would definitely say that you should start with beautiful martini glasses. I have been obsessed with LSA International glassware lately and these martini glasses are no different. These are beautiful and who wouldn’t want to drink a martini out of one of these. I’ve recently invested in a few of the champagne glasses and coupe glasses and am absolutely loving them. These double old-fashioned glasses are also a good investment and perfect for serving all kinds of cocktails.
The next thing you need to do once you’ve gathered all of your necessary components is to decide what type of cocktail you want to drink. Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered on that front too. Make sure to check out all of my cocktail recipes located under the cocktail tab in the top indexes.
Happy Cocktailing and Enjoy!
