A few weekends ago I hosted a Friendsgiving Birthday Celebration for a few of my girlfriends and it was so much fun. We took full advantage of the mild weather and dined al fresco on the patio.
The table was decorated with antique Blue Willow dinnerware, silver and copper accents, and colors inspired by fall. (The table was decorated with this tablecloth in linen, runner, vases, napkins, dinnerware, silver, wine and water glasses, place cards, oil & vinegar cruet, and pepper mill. I tried to link exact or similar items. All Hester & Cook items were purchased at one of my favorite local boutiques, The Paper Tulip.)
I used individual baguettes, wrapped in thick parchment paper, wrapped in twine, and garnished with a fresh sprig of rosemary, were from Lowder Baking Company with the Hester & Cook place cards at every seat. We served those with some delicious balsamic, olive oil, and seasoning blend.
We enjoyed a few delicious appetizers (Fall Bruschetta with Pears, Balsamic Fig Jam, Pecorino-Romano Cheese, & Toasted Pecans, Goat Cheese Stuffed Prosciutto Wrapped Dates, and Olive Cheese Bites-recipe to follow soon) before our meal and sipped on Cranberry Pomegranate Moscow Mules.
For our dinner, I served Pomegranate Molasses Rotisserie Chicken, Roasted Vegetables with Fontina & Parmesan, Roasted Butternut Squash Salad with Cranberries, Toasted Pecans, and Goat Cheese with a Dijon Vinaigrette–recipe coming soon, and Mushroom Risotto.
We ended the meal by the fire with a glass of champagne and a delicious homemade Salted Caramel Cake made by my daughter Paige. (Paige is a pastry chef and I’ve almost talked her into sharing a few of her recipes on LouLou Sucre.)
Check out our birthday celebration from last year. It was also so much fun!
