Tonight I’m teaching a cocktail class dedicated to delicious Mardi Gras cocktails. I thought it would be fun to share a sneak peek of a fun shot that I’m preparing for each participant with you before the class. This Bite of King Cake Shot is so simple to make and amazingly scrumptious. Made with only two ingredients–King Cake Vodka and Rum Chata. I topped it with whipped cream and purple and green sugar.

King Cake is such a huge part of Mardi Gras. It is named after the biblical kings for the celebration of the Epiphany after the Christmas season. It’s a delicious sweet pastry made with different fillings and contains a small figurine, usually a baby. King Cakes are often topped with purple, green, and gold sugar (the official colors of Mardi Gras) and delicious icing. This shot tastes just like a Bite of King Cake.

A Bite of King Cake Shot
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine the King Cake vodka and Rum Chata. Shake vigorously to combine. Pour into a shot glass. Top with whipped cream and garnish with purple, green, and gold sugar.
