I know that everyone thinks they have the best friends in the world, but I actually have some of the best friends in the world. Really, I’m not joking. My girlfriends surprised me on my birthday with the sweetest birthday surprise. We were all so bummed about not being able to celebrate on my day, they decided to set up a surprise scavenger hunt around my neighborhood with lots of gifts and (some social distancing) socializing. It was absolutely fantastic! It was a great idea and they were so creative with the gift-giving that I thought I would share it with you all today in case you need to plan a birthday party during this crazy time because it was so much fun and made for such a memorable birthday.
Clue #1

I knew right away who my “honorary taste tester” was and headed straight to my friend Carolyn’s house for my first clue. I was greeted with a hand-painted bottle (painted by my super talented friend Megan) of Sparkling Rose and clue #2.

Clue #2

Again, I knew exactly where to go when I saw this quote. My friend Erin is such a cutie and as an inside joke, she sometimes has trouble pronouncing things, even though she is also a Speech-Language Pathologist. Hence “Gris-Gris” which we had the hugest laugh about, even a year later. (I’ll have to ask her if she’ll let me share the video one day.) I was greeted with a delicious bottle of Chardonnay on her doorstep with Clue #3. We also enjoyed a little socially distanced conversation and it was fantastic.
Clue #3

Molly’s house was the next stop and I knew it right away from the clue. She has an amazing back porch that’s perfect for sitting and cocktailing. Her daughter also wished me a happy birthday. I also was greeted with a delicious bottle of Pinot Noir from Oregon (my favorite).
Clue #4

Clue #4 took me to my final stop–Ashley’s house. I was greeted with lovely Ashley and her husband David and another bottle of Pinot Noir. (What more could a girl ask for??) We visited a while and I headed home for a scheduled virtual birthday celebration with everyone, including those friends that unfortunately don’t live in my neighborhood.
My Birthday Gift
Not only did my amazing friends give me so many delicious bottles of wine, cheese, and almonds they also surprised me with a gift card to one of my favorite stores. I was blown away by their generocity and creativity for my birthday. I was so touched by their thoughtfulness and will be forever grateful for them (for more reasons than just my birthday celebration).

Gosh, I do love all of these beautiful women. Thank you to Heidi, Carolyn, Lindsay, Brittani, Molly, Erin, Ashley, Jessica, and Mandi. You are all so amazing!!
